how the journey began
The journey of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Green Pastures Sanctuary started on April 28, 2007. Pastor Ayobami (Ayo) Oyebami was in a minister's conference organized by RCCG North America in Washington DC, when he began to hear God's calling to go into full time ministry. Pastor Ayo received the name of the church – Green Pastures Sanctuary (The
Place of Blessed Abundance) - at this conference.
Pastor Ayo's reaction to this calling was not different from the reactions of other men of God. His initial thought was to recruit full time pastors to the United States from his native country, rather than taking up the responsibility himself. he eventually accepted the call to personal service by October, 2009.
At this point, Pastor Ayo resigned from his job with the State of Maryland, leading to an end of his long time profession as an attorney. He and his family relocated to El Paso, Texas in October 2010 to start this new assembly. By November 2, 2010, 16 persons attended its first fellowship service. The first Sunday service was held at the pastor's residence on February 27, 2011, but the church was inaugurated on April 3, 2011.
RCCG Green Pastures Sanctuary is happy of its humble beginning , established and planted by God himself. There is still much grounds to cover.
